Die Szene des Neuen Testaments (Johannes Kapitel 8, 4-7) berichtet, wie eine Ehebrecherin zur Steinigung vorgeführt wird, wobei die Gelehrten an Jesus herantreten, und ihn nach seiner Meinung fragen, ob die Strafe der Steinigung anzuwenden wäre. Daraufhin erwidert Jesus "Wer ohne Sünde ist, werfe den ersten Stein". Die Szene zeigt hier, wie Jesus seine Worte in den Sand schreibt, umgeben von zahlreichen Gelehrten und interessiertem Volk. Rechts ein Knabe, der bereits einen Korb, mit Steinen gefüllt, hält. Im Hintergrund die Stadt Jerusalem mit rundem Tempelgebäude. (1131131) (11)
