Höchst elegante, höfische Dose in Schildpatt, Gold und Mikromosaik

Rechteckform, die Seiten gekehlt, in der Kehlung mittig umlaufendes Goldband der Montierung mit Lorbeerkranzdekor. An der Vorderseite hochstehende Muschel, flankiert von fein ziselierten Akanthusranken. Entsprechende Blattrahmung umzieht das rechteckige Mikromosaikbild, das in allerfeinster Arbeit drei Segelschiffe auf bewegten Wellen zeigt. Die Schaumkronen höchst wirkungsvoll eingearbeitet, der hohe blaue Himmel mit einzelnen Wolken zieht links in warmes Sonnenuntergangslicht. Inneres vollständig in Gold ausgekleidet, ohne Goldstempel. Das dunkle Schildpatt ebenfalls dickwandig in starkem opaken Dunkelbraun, fast ins Schwarz ziehend. Objekt von höchster höfischer Eleganz. (11212716) (11)

Rectangular shape, coved edges with revolving gold mounting strapwork with laurel wreath ornament. Gilded on inside, no gold hallmark visible, indicating the box to be a court commission. Decorated with thick-walled opaque dark brown, almost black tortoiseshell. Object of very fine courtly elegance.
