Große in Holz geschnitzte Figurengruppe der Maria mit dem Kind

In dreiviertel Lebensgröße Maria im Kontrapost stehend. Das Knie des rechten Spielbeins leicht durch den Mantel hervorgestellt. Das Kleid rot gefasst, mit glattem Gürtelband, das nach der Schließe nach unten zieht. Darüber ein ebenfalls in weitgehender Glättung umgelegter Mantel, in dessen Tuchenden das in der linken Armbeuge aufrecht sitzende Kind gehüllt scheint. Die Häupter von Maria und dem Kind sowie die Körperhaltungen frontal dem Betrachter entegegen gerichtet. Das Haupt der Maria bekrönt. Der rechte Arm des Kindes zum Segensgestus erhoben. Beide Arme sowie die rechte Hand der Maria fehlen. Hinten gehöhlt, die Fassung weitgehend erhalten, jedoch eingestimmt. (1120025) (11)


Large wooden figural group of The Virgin and Child

Height: 136 cm.
Probably 16th century with retarding style of the late Middle Ages.

The Virgin is depicted in three-quarter life-size standing in contrapposto. The Virgin and Child's face and posture are frontally turned towards the viewer. Both arms of the Christ Child and the right hand of the Virgin are lost. Hollowed at the back, polychromy largely preserved but with retouches.
