Gemäldepaar SECHS BILDNISSE VON CHARAKTERKÖPFEN Öl auf Leinwand.
Je 66 x 107 cm.
Zwei betont längsformatige Gemälde mit je drei Büsten bärtiger Männer, wobei es sich wohl um Gelehrte oder Philosophen der Antike handelt, worauf die Kleidung verweist. Lediglich einer der Gelehrten erscheint bartlos mit Pelzkragen über grünem Kleid. Thematisch sind die beiden Bilder als Disputatio-Darstellung zu verstehen, die seit der Renaissance Bildthema geworden ist. Andererseits hat der Maler hier im Thema auch den Anlass gefunden, unterschiedliche Charaktere im Sinne der psychologischen Typologie vorzustellen. (1110532) (11)
