Auf einem weiten Platz einer niederländischen Stadt hat sich eine große Menschenmenge versammelt um das Dorffest zu feiern. Der Platz gesäumt von Bäumen mit betont verschatteten Kronen, dazwischen weiter Blick nach hinten bis zu einer Kirche zwischen Häusern. Im Hintergrund sowie vorne zahlreiche Einzelgruppierungen: Die Männer beim Bocciaspiel, tanzende Paare im Reigen neben einem höherstehenden Dudelsackspieler sowie zahllose Gäste bei Tischen und Bänken, die vor den Häusern aufgestellt sind. Ein in dieser Fülle der Schilderungen äußerst seltenes Gemälde, zu dem in sehr ansprechender Qualität mit schöner Lichtwirkung. (1111332)
