Silber, getrieben, gegossen graviert.

(1080476) (13)

Augsburg lavabo set
Height of jug: 22 cm.
Total weight: 1,170 g.
Each piece hallmarked: master's mark Christian Drentwett, master 1754 (Seling 2427), assayer's mark 14.2.2. (Seling 2665e).
Augsburg, second half 18th century.

Silver; wrought, cast and engraved. Set in baroque style with curved bowl and helmet shaped jug. Both engraved with Winkler-Wirsching alliance coat of arms surmounted with a coronet (coat of arms illustrated in Seling, vol. 2, cat. no. 1040). Small dents and signs of wear.

Notes:
The hallmark “14.2.2.” stands for 14 lot, 2 grains, 2 pennies (914/ 1000) that was used for objects whose silver content was higher than usual and therefore replaced the common Augsburg assayer's mark.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
