Als Gegenstücke gearbeitet. Jeweils Tierköpfig, durch die Mäuler ziehen Zügelriemen, der Unterleib vorgebaucht. In Blattform nach hinten hochziehender Delfinschwanz, noch erkennbar mit Schuppenoberfläche skulpiert. Weißer kristalliner Marmor mit Witterungsspuren. An Rückseite und Oberseite begradigt. A pair of stone imposts in the shape of mythical creatures
Height: 41 cm.
Width: ca. maximal 16 cm.
Depth: 32 cm.
Tuscan/Ligurian, 16th - 17th century.
Created as counterparts. Each with an animal head with reins and bits placed in their mouths and with bulging bellies. The creatures have raised leaf-shaped dolphin tails that show remnants of a textured scaly surface. White crystalline marble with signs of weathering. The reverse and topside have been straightened. Both pieces mounted on head-high iron brackets.
