Der italienische Künstler zählt zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der postmodernen Transavantgarde in Italien. Ausgebildet wurde er am Istituto d'Arte in Florenz und an der Accademia di Belle Arti. Nach seinem Umzug nach Rom entwickelte er seine Art Konzeptkunst. In seinen Arbeiten finden sich oft Zitate älterer Kunstepochen wie dem Manierismus, aber auch Kubismus oder Futurismus. Gerne nimmt er Zyklopen, Centauren oder auch Heilige zum Gegenstand seiner Kunst.

Chia is one of the most important protagonists of the postmodern Transavantgarde in Italy. His works often invoke older art movements such as Mannerism, Cubism and Futurism. With minimal damage and minor blemishes to the mosaic.
