Gaspare Landi,
1756 Piacenza - 1830

PORTRAIT OF COUNTESS MARIANNE OF HARO WALDSTEIN, 1803

Oil on canvas.
54 x 45 cm.

Landi was an excellent history painter but he was most famous for his portraits. The present work that was created in 1803 according to documents, is clear testament to this; it depicts Countess Marianne of Haro Waldstein (Vienna, 1763 - Forno, 1808), herself a painter who specialised in miniatures.
