Der Maler war ab 1616 Mitglied der Lukasgilde und in der Folge Dekan der Gilde. Zu seinen Schülern gehören sein Sohn, Cornelis Droogsloot (1630-1676) sowie die Maler Jan Petersen, Peter van Straesborgh oder Jacob Duck (1600-1660). Blick in eine breite Straßenschneise, diese gesäumt von teilweise ruinösen Häusern südlicher Architektur. Im Vordergrund ein junger Landsknecht, der einer Gruppe alter Leute den Weg zur Flucht weist. In Mittel- und Hintergrund nervöses, aufgeregtes Gewimmel von zahlreichen Figuren, die zum Teil in ein Gebäude fliehen bzw. das Vieh in Sicherheit zu bringen versuchen. (1071846) (11)

Droogsloot was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke from 1616 and later became its Dean. His students include his eponymous son Cornelisz, and Jan Petersen, Peter van Straesborgh and Jacob Duck.
