Prachtvoller Brüsseler Wandteppich mit
Darstellung einer höfischen Parkanlage

Der Gobelin ohne Randbordüre, jedoch mit schmaler goldockerfarbener und schwarzer Einfassung umzogen, zeigt eine üppige Parklandschaft mit großen ausladenden Baumkronen. Ein vorderer Baum mit weißen Schneeballblüten, darunter ein vom Baumstamm halb verdeckter Kaskadenbrunnen, dessen unteres Becken von wasserspeienden Masken der Figurensockel gespeist wird, auf den Sockeln Gartenfiguren. Rechts ein Paar unter einem Baum sitzend, dahinter Baldachin und mittlerer Durchblick in den tieferen Park mit Wasser und barockem Eisengitter. Im Vordergrund zwischen Blättern und Gebüsch ein Jagdfalke, der einen Fasan erlegt sowie zwei weitere Vögel links. Blaue Königswinden einen Baumstamm hochrankend, Symbol der Treue in der Liebe. Das Bildthema mit teilweise mythologischem Inhalt.

Magnificent Brussels tapestry with depiction of a courtly park

Tapestry with a depiction of a lush park landscape with large sweeping canopies. Instead of a border the tapestry has a surround of a narrow golden ochre and black edging. A tree in the foreground with white, snowball-like blossoms, and a partly concealed Cascade fountain whose lowest basin is surrounded by garden sculptures with pedestals adorned with spouting masks that feed the fountain. A couple is sitting beneath a tree on the right in front of a canopy and are set against central vista deep into the park with water courses and Baroque iron railings. A hunting hawk between leaves and bushes in the foreground has just killed a pheasant and two other birds. Blue morning glories growing against a tree trunk are a symbol of fidelity in love. The subject has a partly mythological content.
