Beigegeben ein Untersuchungsbericht des RKD - Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie mit genauerer Angabe der Personalien der dargestellten Personen. Laut diesem könnte es sich bei dem Herrenbildnis um Cornelis van Heymenberg (? - 1699) handeln, bei der Dame um Agatha Croonen (? - 1712). Aus dem Jahr ihrer Heirat 1663 ergibt sich, dass das Gemäldepaar zwei Jahre danach geschaffen wurde.
Jeweils Halbbildnisse, das Herrenbildnis nach rechts, die Dame nach links gewandt. Der Herr in schwarzem Umhang mit weißem Mastkragen, das lange braune Haar fällt zu beiden Seiten wellig herab, die Lippen mit leicht lächelndem Ausdruck, der Blick gilt dem Betrachter. Das zweite Bildnis zeigt die Dame in einem roten Miederkleid mit Diamantbrosche, daran eine Barockperle, das leicht grau gepuderte Haar fällt in großen Stopsellocken herab, die hohe Stirn von kleinen Kräusellocken eingefasst, im Haar reicher geflochtener Perlenkettenschmuck, am Hals eine große Perlenkette, eine große tropfenförmige Perle als Ohrgehänge. Die beiden Gemälde lassen den Hintergrund vom Dunklen ins Helle changieren sowie eine ovale Abgrenzung in Schwarz erkennen. (1040801) (11)

Accompanied by a report from the RKD (Netherlands Institute for Art History) suggesting the identity of the sitters. According to the report the portrait of the gentleman could be a depiction of Cornelis van Heymenberg (? - 1699) whereas the lady could be Agatha Croonen (? - 1712). The pair of paintings was created two years after their marriage in 1663.
This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
