Von besonderem Interesse ist, dass dem Gemälde eine Expertise von Wilhelm von Bode, ehemaliger Leiter der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin, vom 28. Dezember 1927 beigegeben ist, diese adressiert an den damaligen Vorbesitzer Generalmajor Eugen Dichtl in Wien. Expertise mit Rundstempel des Kunsthistorikers Geheimrat Wilhelm von Bode.
Das mehrfigurige Gemälde ist laut Gutachten eine Studie zum Fresko im Opernhaus in Budapest. Der Maler hatte bereits mehrere Freskenzyklen ausgeführt, wie etwa im neuen Redutengebäude zu Budapest, in der Akademie der Wissenschaften, im Justizpalast, beide ebenfalls in Budapest, sowie das Deckengemälde im Burgtheater in Wien 1889.
