Bronze, vergoldet, und Carrara-Marmor. Über einer runden, mit Pfeilstab verzierten Plinthe ein kurzer, glatter Sockel mit fein profilierter Basis und dekoriert mit Ketten und Quasten. Über diesem Sockel steht die junge Dame in antikischem Gewand und hält den dreiflammigen Leuchter empor, dieser prächtig dekoriert mit Akanthusblatt, stilisierten Blättern, Voluten, Adlerköpfen, die eine Kugel im Schnabel tragen, Blütenkranz, zentraler Fackel sowie fein ziselierten Leuchtertüllen. Nach den etwas schwereren Formen des "Goût grec" löst ein etwas leichterer, pompejanisch beeinflusster Klassizismus den vorangegangenen Stil ab. Vor allem tritt dieser in den feinen Arabasken der naturalistischen Gestaltung der Ornamenten zutage. Diese Vorliebe für das Antike, gemischt mit Türkerien und Chinoiserien, wurde vor allem durch die Neuausstattung verschiedener Schlösser wie Fontainebleau und Compiègne oder Bellevue und Saint-Cloud, die Marie Antoinette vorantrieb, ausgelöst und unterstützt. Das vorliegende Leuchterpaar bildet somit ein schönes Beispiel für Raumausstattungen der Epoche Louis XVI. Alterssp., minimale Chips am Sockel.
