Außergewöhnlich feiner, aus Lapislazuli geschnittener Elefant mit edel gearbeitetem Überwurf mit gekordelten Applikationen, Baldachin und Glöckchen aus massivem Gold und mit prächtigem Edelsteinbesatz. Ca. 384 Rubine, Smaragde, Saphire, Citrine, Aquamarine und Topase in vielfältigen Facetten- und Cabochonschliffen und z. T. in sehr feiner Qualität zieren alle Goldornamente (ein kleines Steinchen fehlt) sowie auch Altschliffdiamanten, zus. ca. 0,70 ct. Auch die Ohren, Füße und die Stoßzähne aus Bein sind in Gold gefasst und mit Edelsteinen besetzt. Der abnehmbare Baldachin mit kleinen, hängenden Zuchtperlchen überdacht eine stilisierte Reliquie in Form eines oktagonalen Aquamarinkristalls. (1020191)

Exceptionally fine cut lapis lazuli elephant with preciously crafted throw, rope-effect appliqués, canopy and bells made of solid gold, luxuriously studded with gems. All gold ornaments are adorned with ca. 384 rubies, emeralds, sapphires, citrines, aquamarines, topazes in various facetted and cabochon cuts and largely of very fine quality (one small gem missing), and old-cut diamonds, altogether ca. 0.70 ct. The elephant’s ears, feet and bone tusks are gilded and also studded with gems. The detachable canopy is roofed with small, pendant, cultured pearls with a stylised relic in the shape of an octagonal aquamarine crystal.
