Kanne und Becken von Odiot

Silber, getrieben, gegossen, ziseliert, graviert, nachvergoldet. Ãœber ovalem Grund die steile Wandung mit kurzer aufsteigender Fahne und umgeschlagenem Rand. Kanne mit hohem Standring und Korpus in umgekehrter Eiform mit Schnabelausguss und hochgezogenem C-Henkel. Jeweils mit klassizistischer Ornamentik, teilweise etwas verputzt.

Anmerkung:
Jean Baptiste Claude Odiot war Nachfahre von Jean Baptiste Gaspard Odiot, welcher unter Ludwig XV 1690 das Goldschmiedeunternehmen Odiot gründete. Unter Napoleon Bonaparte erhield Odiot zahlreiche bedeutende Aufträge für ihn selbst und seine Familie so etwa sein Schwert und sein Zepter. 1798 - 1809 führte er auch für Maximilian I Joseph von Bayern (1756 - 1825) ein umfangreiches Tafelservice aus, welches sich in der Münchner Residenz befindet. Notes:
Jean Baptiste Claude Odiot was a descendant of Jean Baptiste Gaspard Odiot, who founded the goldsmiths company Odiot in 1690 under King Louis XV. Under Napoleon Bonaparte's reign Odiot gained numerous important commissions by him and his family such as his sword and his sceptre. Also, between 1798 and 1809 he created an extensive tableware for Maximilian I Joseph of Bayern (1756 - 1825), which is today held at the former royal palace, the Munich Residenz.
