Auf der Bodenplatte rechts mittig gestempelt „Frantin N“ als Zeichen für einen Werkstatt-Guss.
Um 1860.
Bronze, schwarz-braun patiniert. Schöne, alte und seltene Szene eines Reiters auf einem über einen Zaun springenden Pferd, vor dem Zaun ein Fuchs. Das Pferd besonders elegant wiedergegeben.
Frantin gehört zu den besten Skulpteuren des 19. Jahrhunderts und war international tätig, unter anderem für den russischen Zar in St. Petersburg, den Herzog von Luynes im Chateau de Dampierre und in England. (10116913) (12)

Stamped on base plate on the centre right “Frantin N” marking it as a workshop casting.
Bronze, with black-brown patination. Beautiful, old and rare scene of a rider jumping over a fence. Frantin was one of the best 19th century sculptors and worked internationally.
