In der linken Hand hält er das mächtige Schwert des von ihm getöteten Goliath, auf dessen Haupt er nachdenklich und ebenso siegesbewusst blickt. An der Stirn des Riesenhauptes der Stein, mit dem David ihn durch seine Schleuder getötet hat. Virtuose, flüssige Malweise, die schon ganz die Lockerheit des barocken Stils verrät. (1012744)
