Italienischer Bildschnitzer des 17. Jahrhunderts
GROSSE SCHNITZFIGUR EINER JUGENDLICHEN HEILIGEN Höhe: 163 cm.
Sockelbreite: ca. 55 cm.
Italien, 17. Jahrhundert.
In Lebensgröße auf mitgeschnitztem Rasensockel stehend. Das eng anliegende, eingefältete Kleid durch ein Gürtelband mit Schleife zusammengebunden, der Halsausschnitt des Kleides besetzt mit einem passig geschweiften Bordürenrand, die Haare ziehen in großzügigen Locken über die Schulter zum Rücken herab. In großem Bogen zieht die Saumfalte des Mantels von der rechten Hüfte herab, links zum Rücken hoch. Der Kopf frontal ausgerichtet, leicht nach vorne geneigt, das Inkarnat in guter Erhaltung der Fassung, mit anmutigem Antlitz. Beide in die Mantelhöhlen ehemals eingesteckten Arme fehlen. Fassung insgesamt erhalten, jedoch altersbedingt abgerieben bzw. an einigen Partien abgeblättert, mit sichtbaren Wurmgängen. An der Rückseite abgeflacht. (960952)

Both arms, previously attached in the cloak's cavities, are missing. Polychrome decoration preserved overall, however with signs of wear due to its age and flaking in some parts, with visible worm damage. Flattened at the back.
