In Anlehnung an die Gemälde von Jan Brueghel d. Ä. (1568 - 1625) hat der Maler den Moment der Aufrichtung des linken Kreuzes wiedergegeben. Umstellt wird die Szenerie von zahlreichen Personen, teils zu Pferde, wobei sich die Gruppe der trauernden Maria und Maria Magdalena sowie weiteren Personen im linken Vordergrund von der Menschenmenge abgesetzt hat. Im linken Vordergrund ist der Streit um das Gewand dargestellt, zu dessen Schlichtung Soldaten heraneilen. Das kleinformatige Gemälde in hoher Qualität sehr fein ausgearbeitet. (10115111) (12)
