Luciano Minguzzi,
1911 Bologna - 2004 Mailand
Italienischer Bildhauer mit Studium bis 1935 an der Kunstakademie Bologna, Schüler von Giorgio Morandi. Studienaufenthalt in Paris, später als Dozent an der Kunstakademie von Padua. 1943 nach Bologna zurückgekehrt, wurde er im Widerstand gegen die Nationalsozialisten aktiv. 1945 Gründung der Künstlergruppe „Cronache“. 1965 Berufung an die Salzburger Sommerakademie, schon seit 1959 Teilnehmer der Documenta in Kassel. Zu seinen bedeutendsten Arbeiten zählen die Tore des Petersdoms in Rom sowie ein Tor am Dom von Mailand. Seit 1996 wurde ihm zu Ehren ein Museum in Mailand gewidmet, in dem weitere Werke ausgestellt wurden. Unten rechts signiert.

Der Bischof mit hoher Mitra und gefalteten Händen, die unter dem weiten Chormantel an der Vorderseite, unterhalb der Schließe hervortreten. Im unteren Figurenteil Betonung der vertikal herabgeführten Gewandfalten, insgesamt stark impressionistisch aufgefasst. Die Figur geschaffen als eines der Elemente der Domtüre in Mailand, 1951 gefertigt. Bronze an der Rückseite zu einem Drittel der Höhe gestaltet, darunter gehöhlt. (1000908)

Height: 71 cm.
The figure was created as part of the doors for the dome in Milan, 1951. On the reverse the bronze is formed a third of the height and hollowed below. Signed lower right.
