In Bronze gegossen und patiniert, auf rechteckigem rot-weiß geädertem Marmorsockel montiert. Herakles packt Lichas am Fuß, um ihn in das euböische Meer zu werfen - doch was war passiert? Lichas wurde von Herakles‘ Gemahlin Deianeira beauftragt, ihm ein Gewand zu bringen. Dieses war mit dem Blut des Nessus bestrichen, in der Hoffnung, dass der Liebeszauber die Liebe des Herakles wieder entflammen könne. Das Blut war jedoch mit dem Blut der Hydra verunreinigt, sodass Herakles‘ Fleisch verbrannte und er begann, sein Umfeld zu zerstören. Entsprechend meint man heute mit einem Lichasdienst eine Tat, die gut gemeint war, aber schlechte Konsequenzen hat. Nach der Kolossalskulptur, die Onorato Gaetani 1795 bei Antonio Canova in Auftrag gegeben hatte und sich heute im Museum für Moderne Kunst in Rom befindet. (1351761) (13)
