In einem Innenraum, in einem weiß bezogenen Bett mit rotem Baldachin, frontal liegend die sterbende Maria in rot-türkisfarbenem Gewand mit Nimbus um ihr Haupt, die Hände sorgsam vor ihrer Brust zusammengelegt und weißem fahlem Gesicht. Sie ist umgeben von den Aposteln, teils die Hände gefaltet, einer von ihnen am Fußende des Bettes nachdenklich sitzend in gelbem Umhang, sowie auf der rechten Bildseite deutlich hervorgehoben Johannes Evangelist mit gekreuzten Armen, leuchtend rotem Mantel und sie intensiv anblickend. Der Tod Mariens ist typisch für die Darstellungen aus dem Marienleben. (1321701) (18)
