Geradezu mutig blickt der Jüngling aus dem Bild dem Betrachter entgegen. Die Kleidung in Rot, mit dunkelblauem, am Unterrand drapiertem Mantel lässt ihn würdevoll erscheinen. Vor dunklem Hintergrund wirkt das Halbbildnis durch den Lichteinfall von rechts oben aufgeleuchtet. Gesicht und Segenshand konkurrieren hier gegen das leuchtende Rot des Kleides. A.R.
