Bauchant malte in dieser Zeit viele Portraits seiner Familienangehörigen und Freunde. Und so entstand auch das Portrait des Postboten Père Avril, welches er zweimal anfertigte. Die zweite Version wird in der Galerie André Bauchant in Château-Renault in der Dauerausstellung gezeigt.
