Hochfeine Mikromosaiken auf schwarzem Fond pro Rahmung vier Schmetterlinge darstellend. Die Rahmung in vergoldeten Bronzen mit plastischer Akanthusblattzier und klassizistischen Knitterschleifen.

Very finely engraved monograms “AB” and “FB” surmounted by crown on the reverse.
Rome, ca. 1820.
Very fine micromosaics on black background depicting four butterflies in each frame. Gilt-bronze frames with three-dimensional acanthus leaf décor and neo-classical crinkled bows.
Note:
The “FB” and “AB” monograms refer to Francesco Aldobrandini Borghese, Prince of Sulmona (1776-1839) and his wife Adélaïde de la Rouchefoucauld (1793-1877).
