Ansicht der Bucht von Baia südlich von Neapel mit dem Castello di Baia. Auf der Legende weitere Benennung der dargestellten Orte sowie eine weitere Signatur von Ruiz. Im vierten und fünften Jahrzehnt des 18. Jahrhunderts war Tommaso Ruiz für Karl III von Spanien tätig, und es sind eine ganze Reihe von Veduten erhalten, wie dieses eindrucksvolle Beispiel aus dem Jahre 1741. Vier Jahre zuvor stellte Ruiz für Karl III von Spanien etwa den Ausbruch des Vesuvs dar, der im königlichen Palast von Riofrío bei Segovia (Spanien) erhalten ist. Sein erfolgreichstes Sujet nach den von ihm gemalten Repliken zu urteilen, von denen viele signiert und datiert sind, ist jedoch die Ansicht des Golfs von Pozzuoli, mit dem Hafen und der Burg von Baia im Hintergrund.
