Imposanter Schrank im Louis XV-Stil

Eiche, geschnitzt, gefasst und partiell vergoldet. Zweiteiliger und zweitüriger Korpus über Rollwerkfüßen mit gemuschelter Zarge. Unterbau mit zwei profilierten und vergoldeten Kartuschen von bombierten Akanthusblattwangen flankiert. Aufbau den Unterbau um das zweieinhalbfache überhöhend. Die zwei Türen oben als Rundbogen zusammengeführt und durch Profilkartuschen gegliedert, die mit reichem vegetabilem und Rocailleschnitzwerk gefüllt sind. Das geschweifte und hervorkragende Gesims mit reich vergoldeten Schnitzelementen besetzt, wie plastisch ausgebildeten Vögeln und einem zentralen Satyrmaskaron, das von Akanthusblattwerk gesäumt ist.

Anmerkung:
Dem hier angebotenen Möbel kann ein Pendant Möbel im Dolmabahçe-Palast beigesellt werden, das von 1843 bis 1856 für Sultan Abdülmecid in Istanbul erbaut wurde. Die Baukosten betrugen damals etwa ein Viertel der jährlichen Steuereinnahmen. 14 Tonnen Gold wurden allein verwendet, um die Decken des Palastes zu vergolden - und so ist es nur folgerichtig, dass auch das Mobiliar prunkvoll ausgestattet werden sollte. Der Pendant-Schrank ist heute im Zimmer des Sultans Abdulaziz zu sehen und unterscheidet sich vornehmlich durch das bekrönende Löwenkopfmaskaron, wo bei uns ein Bacchuskopf sitzt. (12616410) (13)

The furniture offered for sale in this lot can be matched with a counterpart piece of furniture in the Dolmabahçe Palace, which was built for Sultan Abdülmecid in Istanbul from 1843 to 1856. The construction costs at the time amounted to about a quarter of the annual tax revenues. 14 tons of gold were used to gilt the ceilings of the palace alone - and so it is only logical that the furniture should also be opulently furnished. The counterpart cabinet can be seen today in the room of Sultan Abdulaziz and differs primarily in the crowning lion´s head mascaron where a Bacchus head sits in ours.
