Esche, gebogen. Schon 1938-39 experimentierten Eero Saarinen und Charles Eames mit Schichtholzfurnieren, welche sie dreidimensional formten um die Möbel der Anatomie des Menschen anzupassen. Mit dem Organic Chair gewannen sie 1940 den ersten Platz im Wettbewerb Organic Design in Home Furnishings des Museum of Modern Art. Aus der vereinfachten Form wobei Rückenlehne und Sitzfläche getrennt wurden entstanden 1945 die Plywood Chairs. (12500610) (13)
