Beigegeben eine Expertise von Dr. Jaco Rutgers, Tilburg, 15. Mai 2020. In seinem Gutachten vergleicht Rutgers die Darstellung mit zwei in Privatbesitz befindlichen Gemälden, welche 1654 und 1659 datiert sind. Vor allem die Austern seien gut vergleichbar.

Auf einer Steinplatte ein in tiefen Tönen erstrahlendes Fruchtstillleben vor mächtigem Blattwerk und knappen Landschaftsausschnitt auf der rechten Seite. Gezeigt werden nebst Orangen, Trauben, Feigen, Granatapfel und Beeren auch zwei Austern. Joris van Son, der Zeit seines Lebens in Antwerpen wohnte und arbeitete wurde von Jan Davidsz de Heem, Daniel Seghers und Frans Snijders stark beeinflusst. Er war seinerseits Lehrer von Frans van Everbroeck, Jan Pauwel Gillemans d.J., Cornelis van Huynen und Norbert Montalie. (1241861) (1) (13)

Accompanied by an expert’s report by Dr Jaco Rutgers, Tilburg, 15 May 2020. The report compares the present painting with two paintings held in a private collection dating to 1654 and 1659 respectively. He points out that the oysters, in particular, easily compare.
