Über gestuftem Rundsockel die aufmontierte Bronzefigur eines jungen Mannes in italienischer Renaissance-Kleidung, eine Laute spielend. Dubois studierte zunächst Jura, wurde aber alsbald von der Kunst angezogen, sodass er 1856 in die Werkstatt Armand Tousaints (1806-1862) eintrat und 1858 Mitglied der École des Beaux-Arts wurde. Er bereiste Italien und kehrte 1863 nach Frankreich zurück, wo er im Pariser Salon 1865 debutierte und eine Ehrenmedaille gewann. (†) (12200311) (13)
