In einer in Grisaille angedeuteten klassischen Architektur sind Dreiviertelfiguren dargestellt: Prominent ins Licht gerückt sehen wir den halbentblösten Christus, in dessen Wunde Thomas im Begriff ist seine Finger zu legen (Joh. 20.27). Das Gemälde kann gut mit einem signierten Gemälde Salvator Rosas verglichen werden, welches sich im Museo Civico in Viterbo befindet und in der Fondazione Zeri verzeichnet ist und auf ca. 1638-1640 datiert wird. Besonders die Gesamtkomposition und die Figur des Jesus machen eine Nähe oder sogar eine Zuschreibung zum genannten Künstler einleuchtend. (1220333) (2) (13)
