Auf ruhiger See, vor der beleuchteten Kulisse einer Hafenstadt, die ankernden Fracht- und Segelschiffe, dazu einige kleine Fischerboote auf dem Wasser. Unter hohem abendlichen Himmel, mit den letzten rötlichen Strahlen der gerade untergegangenen Sonne. Stimmungsvolle Malerei, bei der sich die Lichter teils auf der Wasseroberfläche wiederspiegeln und das Rot des Himmels auch auf den Schiffen wiedergegeben wird. Typisches Motiv für einen der bedeutensten griechischen Maler des 19. Jahrhunderts. (12001216) (18)
