Endymion, der in der griechischen Sage ewig schöne jugendliche Liebhaber der Mondgöttin Selene, ist hier schlafend wiedergegeben. Darüber erhebt sich ein Wolkengebilde, in dem die jugendliche nackte Mondgöttin erscheint, begleitet von Putten. Die plastische, in Ton gefertige Figurengruppe äußerst fein ausgeführt, von hoher künstlerischer Qualität und technischer Raffinesse. Möglicherweise fein gearbeitete Modell in Bezug auf ein größeres, in Marmor auszuführendes Bildwerk. (1171041) (11)
