Niccolo Ricciolini,

Im Oval im Himmel auf einer Wolke schwebend die Personifikation der Stärke als ein römischer Soldat mit Feder besetztem Helm und einem gelben Gewand, unter dem ein Teil seines Brustpanzers hervorschaut. Er hält zudem eine Lanze in seiner rechten Hand, mit der Spitze nach unten. Im wolkigen Himmelsbereich, der von der Mitte oben herab gelblich erhellt wird und dann in einen hellblauen Himmel übergeht, schweben ein größerer und zwei kleinere Engel.
Von dem Künstler existiert ein Modell mit dem gleichen Motiv, ein sogenannter Karton, für die Mosaikausstattung der Basilika Santa Maria degli Angeli in Rom. Abb. und Literatur in Kopie vorhanden.
Eine gewisse Nähe zu Giacomo del Po (1654-1726) ist nicht zu verkennen.

There is a model by the artist with the same motif, a so called cartoon for the mosaic furnishings of the Santa Maria degli Angeli Basilica  in Rome. Copies of illustration and literature available. A certain
proximity to Giacomo del Po (1654 - 1726) is undeniable.

This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
