Leibung mit geometrischer Bemalung in drei Zonen unterteilt. Über der Basis Inschrift in gotischen Lettern "aqua de buragine". Darüber Dekor mit Pfauenfedern, die Schulter mit überschneidenden Bögen. Hals mit Ringen in Blau und Gelb, dazwischen Palmetten und Schlangenlinien. Rest. Riss unten und auf Körper, rest. Partien am Hals zum Rand. Chips an Rand und Fuß.
Anmerkung:
Nach Ciaroni, 2010, S. 150, unterhielt die Abtei von Santa Croce drei Bottegas in Pesaro, tätig im letzten Viertel des 15. Jahrhunderts. Die Leiter waren Antonio Fedeli, Almerico di Ventura und Barnaba di Pietro di Nicola Marini. In letzterer Werkstatt arbeiteten die Brüder Girolamo und Giacomo di Lanfranco.
Das Gefäß diente zur Aufbewahrung einer flüssigen Mixtur mit Borretsch.

A Large Maiolica Medical Jar
Height: 29.2 cm.
Likely from the workshop of the Abbazia di Santa Croce, circa 1470 - 90.
The body with geometric painted ornaments, in three sections. Restored. A crack on the lower part and on the body, restored. Parts of the neck near the rim have been restored. Chips on the rim and foot.
Note:
According to Ciaroni 2010, pg. 150, the Abbey of Santa Croce maintained three bottegas in Pesaro, that were active in the last quarter of the 15th century. The directors were Antonio Fedeli, Almerico di Ventura and Barnaba di Pietro di Nicola Marini. In the workshop of the latter worked the brothers Girolamo and Giacomo di Lanfranco. The vessel served to store a fluid mixture with borage. Provenance: Dr. Chavaillion Collection; Hôtel des Ventes de Chatellerault, 10.-11-11-2002.
