Rechts in Rot undeutliches Monogramm mit Datierung.
Verglast und gerahmt.
Junger Schäfer in Fellumhang auf einem Steinblock in Landschaft sitzend, ruhend bzw. eingenickt, daneben junge Frau mit Kind, rechts ein Esel reitender Hirte mit seinen Schafen, nach hinten ziehend. Die Darstellung in der seltenen Technik als „Sandbild" gefertigt, die Pastellfarben auf Sand grundiertem Untergrund aufgetragen, wodurch sich eine raue Oberfläche bildet mit leichtem Glimmereffekt. Das Monogramm in etwa entsprechend dem Eintrag in Naglers Monogrammistenlexikon (1881). Der zugewiesene Maler ist nur einer von drei bekannten Sandmalern des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die technische Grundlage der Sandmalerei ist eine Malunterlage aus Holz, mit Leimwasser bestrichen, woran der Flusssand haftet.
