Bedeutender Tafelaufsatz aus dem Fürstenhaus der Romanov
Bronze, feuervergoldet. Über quadratischer Plinte fein guillochierter Säulenschaft. Bekrönter, zaristischer Doppeladler zu drei Seiten vollplastisch ausgearbeitet, in seinen Klauen jeweils ein Zepter haltend. Auf der Wandung drei reliefplastische Wappenkartuschen mit dem Hl. Georg zu Pferde, im Kampf mit dem Drachen. Unterhalb das Andreaskreuz, Russland symbolisierend.

Anmerkung.
Der Aufsatz war ein Geschenk von Zar Nikolaus I. von Russland, 1796 - 1855, an seinen Hofdame Fürstin Bou. Vermutlich gab es davon insgesamt sechs Exemplare, die zu seiner Krönung um 1826 gefertigt wurden. Die Fürstin emigrierte nach Paris, nach deren Tod ging der Aufsatz an eine verwandte Großfürstin in Hessen. (602121)
