1814 Würzburg - 1873 Neuenhain bei Bad Soden Schüler zunächst der Berliner Akademie unter Schadow, später bei Rottmann in München, bedeutender Romantiker der Münchner Schule BLICK AUF DIE BUCHT VOR CAPRI Küstenlandschaft in spätem, rötlichen Abendlicht mit Blick auf einen Palazzo. Im Vordergrund mit Mauer umzäunten Park, im Hintergrund Dorf mit Kirchturm, zu dem ein gepflasterter Weg hinabführt. Im Hintergrund ansteigendes Ufergelände und die Berggipfel der Insel Capri. Das Gemälde zeigt noch ganz, den von der Romantik Rottmanns beeinflussten Malstil und gibt die ruhige Atmosphäre der mediterranen Landschaft wieder. Öl/Lwd. 64,5 x 110 cm. Doubliert.
