FLIEHENDES VOLK AUS EINER BRENNENDEN STADT Blick in eine Architekturlandschaft mit linksseits hochragenden Palastgebäuden und rechts bis zum Hintergrund sich hinziehenden, teilweise ruinösen Bauten, im Vordergrund eine große Menschenansammlung mit zumeist Krüppeln und alten Leuten, darunter Mutter mit zwei Kindern, die aus dem infernalen Brand fliehen, der links zwischen den Gebäuden vorbricht und mit Strahlen durch die Rauchschwaden leuchtet. Bei der Darstellung mag es sich um die - in holländische Manier typische - Umsetzung eines biblischen Themas in zeitgenössische Wiedergabe handeln, so etwa Flucht aus der brennenden Stadt Sodom, oder mit ähnlichem legendärem Hintergrund.
