Tragische Familienszene mit Darstellung einer früher üblichen Konsequenz nach Zerbrechen eines Kruges. Die Mutter hat das Kind zur Bestrafung übers Knie gelegt, während das Brüderlein links hinten eine obszöne Handgeste vollführt, vom Vater jedoch ermahnt wird. Das Schwesterchen steht aufmerksam, neugierig und lernwillig daneben.
