Über vergoldeten Bronzesabots in Klauenform mit Akanthusblättern die geschweiften und gekanteten Beine, die den zweischübigen Korpus sans traverse rahmen und von fein ziselierten Ormolu-Kapitellen überfangen werden. Der Korpus mit risalitartigem Vorbau und übergreifenden klassizistischen Kartuschen gefüllt mit feiner kontrastierender, teils brandschattierter Marketerie Instrumente und Figuren darstellend. Überkragende gekehlte, den Zügen des Möbels folgende Marmordeckplatte, ein Schlüssel vorhanden.
Anmerkung:
J.G. Schlichtig stammte aus Deutschland, ließ sich in den 1760er-Jahren in Paris nieder und führte seine Werkstatt in der Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. Er war ein exzellenter Ebenist und fertigte vor allem Transitions- und Louis XVI-Möbel. Das Monogramm von Königin Marie Antoinette in der Marketerie einer Kommode, die sich heute im Musée du Louvre befindet, weist darauf hin, dass Schlichtig unter anderem für den königlichen Hof tätig war.
Er fertigte vor allem Kommoden und Sekretäre in Rosenholz, mit Veilchenholz, Palisander oder Amarant eingelegt. Nach seinem Tod führte die Witwe das Atelier bis 1787 weiter. (1321095) (1) (13)

J.G. Schlichtig originally came from Germany, settled in Paris in the 1760s and ran his workshop on the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. He was an excellent ebonist and mainly created Transition and Louis XVI furniture.
