Er war in verschiedenen Berufen tätig, u.a. als Gärtner, Zirkusclown und Viehtreiber. Mit mehr als 60 Jahren begann er zu malen. Er benutzte ausschließlich Papier und Wasserfarben, in seltenen Fällen Buntstifte. Â

Seit 1978 in süddeutscher Kunstsammlung.
