Als Pendants gearbeitete Landschaften, die ganz unter dem Stileinfluss Claude Lorrains stehen. Dabei hat der Maler auch hier die von Lorrain übernommene Bildauffassung in hellen Farben vorgeführt, wobei als wesentliches Merkmal ein weiter Landschaftsblick bis zum Horizont gegeben ist, die Nähe der Landschaftsdarstellung jeweils aus leichter Kavaliersperspektive. Als Repoussoir in einem der Bilder links hochziehendes Blattwerk schattengebender Bäume, im Gegenstück ein verschatteter bewaldeter Hügel. Rechts im erstgenannten Bild eine malerische Häusergruppe, die sich ins Tal nach unten zieht, im vorderen Zentrum Staffagefiguren mit Hirten und Tieren, entsprechende Stimmung auch im Gegenstück. Der idyllisch-arkardische Charakter, der seit Claude Lorrain in die Malerei des 18. und noch bis ins 19. Jahrhundert hinein gültig wurde, hat eine Reihe von Malern inspiriert in diesem Stil zu arbeiten. Das vorliegende Gemäldepaar in feiner malerischer Ausführung.
