Nach dem weinenden Engel von 1636 für das Grabmal des Kanoniker-Philanthrops Guilain Lucas (gest. 1628). Installiert an der Rückseite des Hochaltares der Kathedrale Notre-Dame d'Amiens.
In weißem Marmor auf Sockel sitzender, in sich versunkener Putto mit gespreizten Flügeln, seine Hand auf eine abgelaufene Sanduhr gelegt, sein Ellbogen auf einen Menschenschädel gestützt. Minimal besch.
Anmerkung:
Nicolas Blasset stammt aus einer Linie von Bildhauern und Skulpteuren aus Amiens. Sein Onkel, seine Cousins und sein Vater waren Bildhauer. Von ihnen lernte er die Kunst der Bildhauerei, aber er studierte auch die Arbeiten der großen Meister der Renaissance, wie Jean Goujon (um 1510-um 1567) und Germain Pilon (1528-1580).Er war auch mit den Werken der Bildhauer aus den südlichen Niederlanden, bspw. aus Gent, Mechelen oder Antwerpen, vertraut. 1625 wurde er als Bildhauermeister und Mitglied der Confrérie des Puys Notre-Dame d´Amiens aufgenommen. Im selben Jahr beauftragte ihn die Stadt Amiens mit der Gestaltung der Dekoration für den feierlichen Einzug der Königin Henrietta von England.

After the crying angel executed in 1636 for the tomb of the canon philanthropist Guilain Lucas (died 1628). Added at the back of the high altar of Notre-Dame d'Amiens Cathedral.
White marble. With minimal damage.
