Beigegeben eine Expertise von Martin Dieterle und Claire Lebeau, Paris, 14. November 2019, mit Referenznummer 7010 (im Original vorliegend). Das vorliegende Gemälde wird in den Ergänzungsband des Werkverzeichnisses von Dieterle und Lebeau aufgenommen.
Ein Weiher, welcher das tonale Lichtspiel des Himmels reflektiert, von einem Baum von links her überragt und teils verschattet. Einige gelborange Blüten beleben das Schilf, eine Frau, welche mit ihrem corotschen Rot die Braunvarianten durchbricht, sitzt links am Ufer und scheint den Weiher zu überblicken. Links am Horizont einige Häuser eine Siedlung ausweisend – vielleicht Ville-d’Avray, wo Corot zum Beispiel 1865 das gleichnamige Gemälde schuf, welches sich heute in der National Gallery of Art in Washington befindet, oder auch jenes mit dem Titel „L’étang de Ville-d’Avray“, welches im Musee d’Orsay verwahrt wird. Das hier angebotene Gemälde ist zwar nicht datiert, lässt sich jedoch – so auch das Gutachten – in die erste Hälfte der 1860er Jahre datieren.

In gilt Baroque-style frame with glass.
Enclosed an export report by Martin Dieterle and Claire Lebeau, Paris, 14 November 2019, with ref. no. 7010. The present painting is enclosed in the supplement of the catalogue raisonné by Dieterle and Lebeau.
