Darstellung einer Gartenlaube mit reichem Weinbewuchs und antikischen Hermenbüsten, welche mit vergoldetem Tafelgerät dekoriert ist. Links hinter der nur knapp bekleideten jugendlichen Bacchusfigur ein weiter Ausblick in eine italienische Landschaft, neben ihm Diana und Ceres sowie zwei Putti mit einem Löwen. Zu den Füßen des Bacchus die Waffen der Diana, deren ruhender Zustand eine friedliche Zeit andeuten mögen.Â
Anmerkung:
Die Komposition wurde 1700 für die Residenz von Louis de Bourbon in Meudon angelegt und befindet sich heute im Louvre, eine kleinere ovale VErsion im Fine Arts Museum in Troyes.
