Dieses Meereskrokodil, bei dem die einzelnen Knochenplatten des Hautpanzers beinahe komplett, sowie sogar die ursprünglich knorpeligen Luftröhrenringe besonders gut erhalten sind.
Meereskrokodile sind wesentlich seltener als Ichthyosaurier zu finden, auch die Präparation ist meist wegen der oft dreidimensionalen Erhaltung deutlich schwieriger. Deshalb werden sie nur sehr selten angeboten.
Wie alle Krokodile waren auch die Steneosaurier Fleischfresser, welche sich von Fischen und möglicherweise auch von jungen Ichthyosauriern ernährten. Jungtiere wurden bisher nur sehr selten gefunden, was dafür spricht, dass die nächste Küste für die Eiablage sehr weit entfernt gewesen sein muß. (1131061) (13)
