Messing. Tiefes halbkugeliges Becken mit abgeknicktem Rand, auf einem hohen, glockenförmig gewölbten Fuß. Die gesamte Innenseite graviert und punziert; in der Mitte ein rundes Feld mit dem Dogenporträt und der Umschrift „ANDREA CRITTI ANNO 1538“, umlaufend eine Zone mit Blattranken, vier Masken und vier Drachen, außen eine breite Zone mit Blattranken, zwei Satyrn, vier Vögeln und zwei ovalen Feldern mit dem Markuslöwen bzw. dem von zwei Nereiden flankierten Wappen der Familie Gritti, der Rand mit einem Fries aus Blattranken. Der Rand des Sockels mit einem Palmettenfries.
Andrea Gritti (1455 - 1538) war nach einer erfolgreichen diplomatischen und militärischen Karriere von 1523 bis 1538 der 77. Doge der Republik Venedig. (10418428) (14)
