Pietra dura-Tisch mit Mikromosaiken

Über drei geschnitzten und vergoldeten Rollwerkfüßen mit Akanthusblattdekor und Volutenspangen der aus Blattwerk bestehende Schaft, die vergoldete profilierte Deckplatte tragend. Diese mit Lapislazuli und verschiedenen Marmor- und Porphyrsorten eingelegt in schwarzem Basalt. Zentraler Tondo mit sieben Mikromosaiken mit Ansichten Roms, wie dem zentral dargestellten Petersplatz und Petersdom, dem Forum Romanum, dem Kolosseum, dem Pantheon, der Spanischen Treppe, dem Konstantinsbogen sowie dem Rundtempel der Festa. Jeweils in feinem polychromem Mikromosaik ausgeführt. (1370807) (13)

Standing on three carved and gilt scrollwork feet with acanthus leaf décor and volute clasps, the table leg created from foliage, supports the tabletop with gilt profile. The black basalt tabletop is inlaid with lapis lazuli and various types of marble and porphyry. A central tondo shows seven micromosaics depicting views of Rome: St. Peter´s Square and St. Peter´s Basilica, The Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Arch of Constantine and the round Temple of Vesta. Each is executed in fine polychrome micromosaic.
